Privacy Policy

Last updated:

Personalised gifts need personal details: the names of your children and grandchildren, a wedding date, a family photo, the address of the person you are surprising. We take that trust seriously. This Privacy Policy explains what information Kin Print collects when you visit kinprint.shop or place an order, why we need it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and the choices and rights you have. Kin Print is the business responsible for your information. You can reach us at support@kinprint.shop or by post at Kin Print, 1714 Wasabi Way, Gilroy, CA 95020, US.

Privacy at a glance

  • What we collect: contact and shipping details, order details, personalisation text, photos you email us, and basic technical data from your browser.
  • Why: to produce and deliver your gift, support you, prevent fraud and keep the site working.
  • Photos: deleted 30 days after your order is delivered.
  • Selling data: we do not sell your personal information.
  • Payments: card details are handled by the payment provider shown at checkout, not stored by us.
  • Your rights: ask to see, correct or delete your data by emailing us; we reply within 24 hours on business days.

1. Information you give us

When you place an order

We collect your name, email address, billing address, shipping address (which may be the recipient’s address), phone number if you choose to enter it at checkout, the items you buy, and the text you write in the order notes box. For personalised gifts, the order notes usually contain other people’s first names, nicknames, dates of birth, anniversaries or short family phrases. Please only include what is needed for the design.

When you send us a photo

Photo gifts need a picture, which you send to us by email with your order number. Photos often show family members, including children. We use a photo only to produce the item you ordered, and we delete it 30 days after the order is delivered. If you return the item or ask for a re-print within that time, we may keep the photo until the replacement is delivered and then delete it within 30 days of that delivery. We never use customer photos for advertising or on our website.

When you contact us

When you email us or submit a ticket, we keep the message, your email address and any attachments (for example photos of a damaged item) so we can answer and keep a record of what was agreed.

When you create an account

If you create an account, we store your name, email address, a securely hashed password, your saved addresses and your order history so you can see past orders and check out faster.

2. Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our site receives some technical information when you visit: your IP address, browser type, device type, pages viewed, the page that referred you and the date and time of your visit. This information is used to deliver pages, keep the site secure, block abusive traffic and understand basic site performance. Our website hosting and content delivery provider processes this data to serve and protect the site.

Cookies

We use a small number of cookies that the shop needs to work: cookies that remember what is in your cart, keep you signed in to your account, and protect checkout and forms from abuse. Our content delivery and security provider may set a cookie used to tell real visitors from automated traffic. We do not currently use advertising cookies. If we add analytics or advertising tools in the future, we will update this policy and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent first. You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings, but the cart and checkout will not work without the essential ones.

We do not make decisions about you based solely on automated processing that have legal or similarly significant effects.

4. Who we share information with

We share only what each partner needs to do its job:

  • Production and fulfilment partners who produce and pack your item receive the product choices, personalisation text, photo (for photo items) and shipping details.
  • Shipping carriers receive the recipient’s name, address and, if given, phone number so they can deliver and contact the recipient about delivery.
  • Payment providers shown at checkout process your payment directly. They receive your payment details under their own privacy policies; we receive confirmation of payment and limited details such as the last digits of a card, never the full number.
  • Website hosting, email and security providers store and transmit data on our behalf.
  • Authorities when the law requires it, or to protect our customers and business from fraud.

We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. Every service provider may use the data only to provide its service to us.

6. Information about the people you buy for

When you order a gift, you give us information about other people: the recipient’s name and address, and often the names of their children, grandchildren or partner. Please only share what is needed and make sure the people concerned would be comfortable with it, especially for photos. We use that information only to produce and deliver the gift, never to contact the recipient for marketing. The carrier may contact the recipient about delivery. If a recipient asks us to delete their details, we do so once the order and any return are complete.

Sensitive moments

Some orders are made for sad occasions, such as memorial ornaments with a loved one’s name, dates or photo. We treat these with particular care, keep them to the people who need to see them to produce the item, and delete the photo on the same 30-day schedule.

7. Emails we send

Order emails (confirmation, shipping, refund and support replies) are part of your purchase and are always sent. Marketing emails are only sent if you opt in, and every one contains an unsubscribe link. We do not buy email lists and we do not send your address to other companies for their own marketing.

8. Browser privacy signals

Because we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context advertising and do not run advertising cookies, browser signals such as Global Privacy Control do not change how our site treats you today. If that changes, we will honour those signals as the law requires and update this page.

9. Children’s information

Our shop is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. Personalised gifts often include children’s first names or photos supplied by a parent, grandparent or relative; we use those only to produce the ordered item and delete photos 30 days after delivery. If you believe a child has given us information directly, email us and we will delete it.

10. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to receive a copy, to correct it, to delete it, to object to or restrict certain uses, to withdraw consent, and to not be treated differently for exercising these rights. California residents have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right to know, delete and correct personal information and to opt out of its sale or sharing (we do neither). Residents of Canada, Australia and New Zealand have rights under their national privacy laws to access and correct personal information.

To make a request, email support@kinprint.shop from the address linked to your orders, with the subject “Privacy request”. We may ask you to confirm details of a recent order to verify your identity. We respond within the time the applicable law allows, and usually much sooner. You can unsubscribe from any marketing email using the link at its bottom; order and service emails will still be sent because they are part of your purchase.

11. Security

Our site uses an encrypted HTTPS connection on every page. Access to order data is limited to people and providers who need it. Passwords are stored in hashed form. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a unique password for your account and never send card numbers or passwords by email. If we learn of a security incident affecting your information, we will notify you as the law requires.

12. International transfers

Kin Print is based in the United States and our providers may process data in the United States and other countries. If you order from Canada, Australia or New Zealand, your information is transferred to the United States to fulfil the order. We take steps so that providers protect it in line with this policy.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our services or the law change. The date at the top shows the latest version. Significant changes will be highlighted on this page.
