About Us

Last updated:

Kin Print makes personalised gifts for the people who are, quite simply, yours: Mom, Dad, Grandma, Grandpa, the person you share a home with, and the whole noisy family around the table. Our name says it plainly. “Kin” is family. “Print” is the name, the date or the photo that turns an ordinary shirt, mug, ornament or canvas into something that could only belong to one household. This page explains what we sell, how a Kin Print gift comes together, and the promises we make to every family that orders from us.

What we make

Everything in our shop is personalised for the person receiving it. We keep the range focused on things families actually use and keep:

  • Shirts and sweatshirts with names, titles like “Nana” or “Papa”, the grandkids listed down the front, or a family photo. Classic tees, comfort tees, long sleeves, sweatshirts and hoodies are in our Custom Shirts & Sweatshirts collection.
  • Mugs in 11 oz and 15 oz sizes, carrying a photo, a short line only your family understands, or an “est.” year. See Personalized Mugs.
  • Ornaments for a first Christmas, a new baby, a new home, a new grandchild or a gentle memorial, in Personalized Ornaments.
  • Canvas prints of family photos or family-name designs for the hallway, living room or nursery, in Custom Canvas Prints.
  • Home decor such as throw pillows, blankets and signs with names and dates, in Personalized Home Decor.

We organise the shop the way people actually think when they buy a gift: by who it is for. You can start with Gifts for Mom, Gifts for Dad, Gifts for Grandma, Gifts for Grandpa, Couple Gifts or Family Gifts, and then choose the item that suits them.

Why family gifts

Most of us have one person in the family who is impossible to shop for. They already have enough sweaters. They will not tell you what they want. But almost everyone softens when they see their grandchildren’s names on a sweatshirt, a photo from a summer they still talk about, or the year they became “Dad”. A personalised gift is less about the object and more about being remembered in a specific way. That is the idea behind every product in our shop.

We also think the best personalisation is simple. A name in clear lettering, a date, a short sentence in your own words. We do not try to cram everything onto one item. If a design starts to feel crowded, we will suggest trimming it, because the gift should be easy to read from across the room.

How a Kin Print gift comes together

  1. You choose the recipient and the item. Browse by person or by product, and pick the size, colour or style on the product page.
  2. You write the personalisation at checkout. There is no complicated design tool. In the order notes box, write the names, dates or short text for each item, one line per item. If the design uses a photo, write “photo by email” and send the picture to support@kinprint.shop with your order number.
  3. You check your confirmation email. We print exactly what you type and do not send a proof or mockup first, so please read the confirmation carefully. You have 24 hours to change anything.
  4. We prepare your order in 1–3 business days. We match your notes and photos to each item, produce it and check it against your notes before packing.
  5. Your gift ships free from the USA. Transit to the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand takes 7–14 business days, and you receive a tracking link by email.

Our promises to every family

We would rather make a few clear promises and keep them than make big claims. These are the ones that matter most:

Why we offer returns on personalised items

Many shops will not accept a return on anything with a name on it. We understand why, but we do not think it is fair to the person buying. Sizes are hard to judge for someone else, especially for a grandparent who lives far away. A canvas can look different on a real wall. Families change: a baby arrives, a name is spelled a new way. So every Kin Print item can come back within 60 days of delivery, and the return label is free. Returned personalised items are never resold.

How we think about care and checking

Every item is checked against the order notes before it is packed: the spelling of each name, the order of the names, the date, and the placement of any photo. If something in your notes is unclear, or a photo is too small to print sharply, we stop and email you instead of guessing. Each product page lists the material and care instructions for that item, and we encourage you to follow them so the print stays bright, for example washing shirts inside out in cool water.

When something does go wrong, a parcel damaged on the way or an item that does not match your notes, we replace or refund it, usually without asking you to send it back. Photos of the problem are all we need.

What we do not do

  • We do not invent reviews, sales counters or pressure messages about stock running out. If a page has reviews, they come from verified buyers only.
  • We do not print logos, licensed characters, team marks or lyrics we have no right to use; our Intellectual Property Policy explains why.
  • We do not sell or share your family’s information for advertising.
  • We do not use customer photos for marketing.
  • We do not show payment logos for options that are not connected to our checkout.

Gifts for the moments families mark

Families come to us around the same moments every year, and each one has its own kind of gift:

  • Mother’s Day and Father’s Day: a sweatshirt with the children’s names, a mug with a photo from the year they were born, or a canvas of the whole family.
  • Grandparents Day: every grandchild’s name on something Grandma or Grandpa will wear to the next family lunch.
  • Anniversaries and weddings: matching shirts, mug pairs with “est.” years, ornaments for a first Christmas together.
  • New babies and new homes: an ornament with a new name, a pillow or canvas for the new front room.
  • Remembering someone: a memorial ornament or canvas with a name, dates and a photo, handled gently and privately.
  • Reunions and holidays: matching family tees, one name each, in every size from teenager to great-grandpa.

For important dates, remember to allow 1–3 business days of preparation and 7–14 business days of transit. If your date is close, email us before you order and we will tell you honestly whether the estimate fits.

Choosing words that last

The text on a gift is read for years, so it is worth a few minutes of thought. A few things we have learned from family orders:

  • Use the name they are actually called. If the grandchildren say “Mimi”, print “Mimi”, not “Grandmother”.
  • Short beats clever. “Our family began in 1994” is easier to read on a mug than a long paragraph.
  • Order the names deliberately. Oldest to youngest is the most common choice and avoids any hurt feelings at the dinner table.
  • Leave room to grow. If a new grandchild is expected, an ornament for this year and another for next year can be kinder than reprinting a sweatshirt.
  • Read it aloud. If it sounds natural said aloud, it will look natural printed.

Photos that print well

For mugs, ornaments and canvases, the photo matters as much as the product. Daylight photos with faces clearly in focus print best. Phone photos are usually fine for mugs and ornaments; for larger canvases, the original file straight from the phone or camera works better than a screenshot or a picture saved from a messaging app, which is often compressed. If the photo you send is too small or blurry to print clearly, we email you before production and wait for a better one rather than printing something you would be disappointed by.

A note on colour and lettering

Product pages show each design with sample names so you can see the layout. On your item, your names replace the samples, and the lettering adjusts slightly so a short name like “Bo” and a long one like “Alexandria” both sit comfortably. Screen colours vary a little between phones and computers, so a sage shirt may look a shade lighter or darker on your screen than in your hands. If the difference is more than a shade, or anything else does not look as it should, tell us and we will put it right.

For families who live far apart

Many of our orders travel a long way: from a son in Texas to his parents in Ontario, from a granddaughter in California to her grandparents in Auckland, from siblings in three states to their mom on her birthday. Because we ship free to the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, you can send a gift straight to the person, with their address on the parcel and your words on the item. If a size is wrong, the recipient can send it back with our free label, and we sort out the exchange directly with them.

Where we are and how to reach us

Kin Print is based at 1714 Wasabi Way, Gilroy, CA 95020, US, and orders ship from the USA. We support customers by email only, at support@kinprint.shop, and reply within 24 hours on business days. The Help Center and our FAQs answer the most common questions about personalising, sizing, shipping and returns, and Submit a Ticket opens a ready-made email for any request.

Start with the person, not the product

If you are not sure where to begin, think about the person first. Where do they spend their mornings? What do they call themselves in the family? Whose names would make them smile? Then visit the shop or start with the collection for them. The right gift usually becomes obvious once you know whose name goes on it.
